Kacific Broadband Satellites has introduced a new terminal kit with the hope and key aim to reduce the total price of satellite broadband services for Kiwi Consumers across the country, making connectivity more accessible for many. The newly launched kit includes a new, low power, high throughput ST Engineering iDirect MDM2010 IP Satellite modem, paired nicely with an iLNB 3210 transceiver and a smaller 75cm VSAT antenna.
If you don’t know tech, don’t sweat it. The point is, if you’re looking for a rural solution, Kacific has got you sorted!
Let’s break it down, the MDM2010 is a 2-way, high throughput modem that is made to support various types of IP services. It’s straight forward and simple, installation and high-performance allow Kacific to proudly present fast broadband services more cost-effectively over its Ka-band network.
This modem won’t be an eye sore for your house décor like many are, with it being both compact and lightweight, it should go unnoticed. The main attraction is its affordability and ease of set up in comparison to others consumers typically use. It’s suitable for all weather conditions and consumes little power making it a winner.
Entry prices typically start from over $600 but Kacific’s is delivering Kiwis with savings, with the launch of this new terminal kit reducing those costs by up to 50%. Lowering the cost allows Kacific internet provider partners the ability to flex and reduce customer contract lengths, where installation costs were being included.
The new modem will easily connect 4 to 5 average users simultaneously, making it suitable for farms, households and small businesses.
“The underlying principle of Kacific’s business is providing fast affordable broadband to under-served areas,” Christian Patouraux, Kacific’s Chief Executive Officer has stated. “The MDM2010, is an step forward in delivering that. Along with its paired iLNB transceiver, it is an entry level product that will significantly lower the price of Kacific’s consumer-oriented terminals without compromising performance. It is capable of speeds of up to 50Mbps down and 10Mbps up, further reinforcing the total cost-effectiveness of the Kacific broadband plans for consumer and SME end-users.”
“There is nothing more satisfying for us at Kacific than to see videos of smiling first-time internet users accessing rich online content via a Kacific VSAT terminal. Every life that we and our ISPs and channel partners touch with internet connectivity represents a chance for a child, a family, a community, to have higher quality education and healthcare and be better integrated in a fast, connected world.”
The new modems and terminals will roll out in New Zealand from 1 October 2021.
